Growth capital opportunities for Brazilian markets

10/11/2010

Oxford Capital’s CEO visits Brazil for a series of meetings to discuss investment ideas and development opportunities.

As Brazil explodes onto the world stage as an economic powerhouse, lessons of technology transfer are valid to the country today. This is one of the main reasons of Oxford Capital’s Chief Executive Officer, Edward Mott, and Financial Director, David Mott, visit to Brazil. The trade mission will discuss investment ideas and development opportunities with Brazilian investors and companies focusing on how lessons of European technology transfer could help Brazil’s development and how enterprises could use the experience to access European markets. Ted Mott will attend a series of meetings and calls in São Paulo and Belo Horizonte from 8 to 12 November.

Oxford Capital is the head of Global Capital Alliance Network of capital providers from around the world. They are a leading specialist European asset manager, which invests in three high growth sectors: Communications, Healthcare and Sustainability. Ted Mott has already helped many companies to achieve the technology transfer jump, being some of them already active in Brazilian markets. “The Combination of leading edge technologies developed in Europe with practical local experience in Brazil can add significant value and benefit to all parties. The growing desire and ability of Brazilian corporations to position their businesses models with new technologies provides a great opportunity for this pooling of talent and expertise”, guarantees Mott.

Oxford Capital Partners visit to Brazil was organised by the Science and Innovation team of the British Embassy. The programme includes participation at the event "UK-Brazil Seed Capital Experience Seminar" at the Inhotim Institute in the State of Minas Gerais, organised by the Criatec Seed Capital Fund in partnership with SECTES - Minas Gerais State Secretariat for Science, Technology and Higher Education. The objective will be to exchange knowledge on the Seed Capital experience in Brazil and the UK, highlighting the economic development potential and the eco-system required for modern venture capital to flourish.
